    Default gti6 gear box in a mi16?

will it work. My biggest questions are how different are the gear linkage seat ups?

Will it clear the rack (unlike the 306) I think it should as the engine bay is bigger.

And how do you hook up the pull up reverse? I could use an early 405 be1 type gear lever but which cable could I use and how do you disconnect the cable with from the gearbox?

    Cheers Chris

Will the cable from the mi16 fit in the gti6 box? and be long enough?

You do it and let me know how it goes. I've got a 6 slot box here ready.

just did some research on the job and found chassis modification is required so no longer a thought. Don't wanna cut a hole in the car!

where and why the cut ??

you may find it may just be the plastic inner liner you need to cut back to allow the box to stick out into the wheel arch a little

Apparetly the inside of the chassis rail. Where the plastic inner guard clips on to, but the inside of it! The end casing of the gearbox sticks out and rubs slightly on the tyre when on full lock. Apparently rims off set out further or spacers will stop this.
