    Default Photos t16

Here are some photos a friend of mine sent me from france. It is one of the original 500, T16's that were homologated, this particular car has 27000 km on the clock. It would make a nice Christmas present.

Certainly a beast. I can't say I'm a fan of the bodywork, but I imagine it would be a hoot to drive!

I know what it is, but for my taste the body work is fugly horses for courses. a 306 Maxi would be a different story, that bodywork I like I just don't like angular.

    Yeah - they ran TRX's...

My mates 180hp M535 BMW "overwhelmed" those tyres pretty easily...

For what's it's worth there was only 200 made for homologation and they poked out about 200 bhp so lots of fun to drive.

    What an awsome car!!!

Judging from the grime and general dirt in the engine bay components, it looks like this car has actually been driven as you would a normal car. My 205 gets driven regularly but it is nowhere near that built up with grime and the engine bay is relatively clean! I dont think i would let it get that dirty, its a T16!!!!!!!

So is that what a series 1 glovebox lid looks like.
I've never seen one, even my fuse box is held up by bungy cords.

Great car that T16, we can only dream.

Well pointed out Andrew. Is that right 200bhp awsome, any idea about acceleration times?

It had 200hp but 255nm of torque so a decent amount of urge once it hit the powerband. 0 to 60mph in around 6 secs. and top speed around 130mph.

Peugeot needed it reliable as a road car for the public so it had relatively low boost from the turbo. The car also weighed just under 1200kgs and was generally known as the 205 Turbo16.

As we all know the Group B 205 T16 is the genuine rocketship......

0-100 is only about the same as a 1.9 GTi.
You need the EVO1 kit to get a true performance car, this doubled the price of the car!

It was faster than the 1.9 Gti but yes it only produced a fraction of the rally T16's power output. But the potential is there

I have two, one in the same colour as in the pictures and an Evo 2. I look at them every day on my desk......

If I was lucky enough to own a real one you'd be hard pressed to find any dust on it. Its just begging to be taken outside for a play.

It *might* be there, but I'd imaging modifying it would reduce its value quite significantly like many other rare cars. Still, a 0-60 time of 6 flat and a 14.9 1/4 mile is good even now - and great for a Peugeot!

    Thats for sure : )

I think your car lands somewhere between the road car and the Group B car. Still seeing my therapist after driving yours to control speed related panic attacks ... lol
