Default 307 flashes "STOP" on dash instruments

    Hi Chaps
I was driving my 307 estate down the Princes Highway last Wednesday afternoon, when all of a sudden the dash instruments "flashed" STOP at me, I pulled straight over to the roadside verge and consulted my owners handbook but could not find an answer. My personal technican is away overseas at the moment so I am at a loss as to what it could be, and I dare not drive it again until I find out what the problem is
Does anyone have an idea as to what the problem is?
    Thanks
    S & S

Not too sure how this alarm works in the 307 but check handbrake is fully off.
Check brake fluid levels, and there may be a sensor to pick up worn brake pads

My 405srdt does the same when the coolant level is a bit low flashes on then off Red STOP + a tell tail light in the temp gauge to indicate what circuite the fault is in.
Presume 307 to be the same have not experienced it with my 307hdi 98,000klm 2007 .
Check all your fluid levels brake fluid + oil & coolant

Could be anything from oil pressure, oil level, coolant pressure, coolant level, brake fluid level, worn brake pads...
My 306 gti had the stop light coming on because my cooling fan relay was full of water and was shorting.
Just get an engine diagnostic and it will tell you the engine error code
