Default Protector Strip Removal - 306

My 306Xsi is beginning to suffer from clear coat flaking on the plastic door protection strips. I intend to remove them to strip and paint, but I'm not sure if they clip on or if there are some hidden fixing screws inside the doors. Given the tendency of French plastics to shatter at little provocation, I thought I'd ask here before proceeding. Any advice?

    Thanks

    Rob

You may be able to push out the clips from inside the door leaving them attached to the outer strips as they look pretty fragile.

I did this exact thing on my 306 to respray them as my clearcoat was peeling also. The plastic strips actually slide off but I found it impossible to do without breaking some of the white clips.

I ordered a heap from ebay UK cheap as chips and replaced them.
