    Default 306 Idler Pulley Noise

    Hi Fellow Puggers,
I've got a horrible noise, mostly on start up, like a screech of a cockatoo. It's been suggested it is the Idler Pulley on the belt. Does anyone if the bearing can be replaced or is it a case of getn a whole new thing?

I'm also after recommendations on who is best to get parts off. I need struts, lower control arm bushes and now maybe the idler pulley or bearing thereof.

    Any advice is gladly accepted,
    Keith

Or it can also be the main pully delaminating. That's happened on my S16 twice. Mine when it was doing it was worse when the air cond was on.

Idler pulleys are an integral unit. I dont believe you can just replace a bearing. The cost saving isn't that much anyway
