    Default 407 V6 6 speed manual coupe

    Hi all
Anyone got first hand experience on a 407 V6 6 speed manual?
I'm considering this as a replacement for the 607 now written off.

All I know is that they were a special order car. Have you found one for sale? At the time I was trying to get a test drive of one, but the only one available for test driving was privately owned, and as I wasn't sufficiently serious at the time, I declined the offer to take it for a spin. I was also told, at the time, that it was the only manual in the country. Hopefully a few more have been ordered.

Also, that manual was a petrol-powered car, not the diesel.
    Cheers,

    Thanks Patrick

2 for sale in Melbourne on Carsales ATM. 1 with very low ks and the other at a lower price.

The dealer has been trying for months to sell it and has dropped it from $29+ to $26+

    Have you driven it?

Anyone here got 1 and are you happy with it?

    Thanks

I've only driven an automatic diesel. I was impressed. And to put that into context, I was not impressed by the 407 V6 I drove, and neither was I with the 508.

    If you're coming out of a 607, you'll be able to live with a 407 coupe but you won't like a 407 sedan or a 508.

I commented on your other thread. (keep in mind what I said re low nose, blind spots and rear dwarf accommodation).

I have owned my 407 HDi coupe for 2 years now (only travelled 12,000km).

I consider it an excellent (very high quality) car that has had nothing wrong with it (and I am very picky).

I test drove a manual 407 V6 earlier and loved it (except there was not enough room for my left foot (size 13).

After owning the HDi I think I would miss the enormous torque that it has and doubt I could go back to a petrol coupe!

The 17000km coupe looks the goods, if they could be screwed down a bit ($24/25k?)!

The writers all say that the HDi is a better car!!, and I agree, go drive one of each.

    Good Luck

In keeping with replies related to the 407, I can comment re the 407 SV HDi. This is the V6 2.7 twin turbo diesel.

I have the Touring model, & it has been a very reliable vehicle with incredible performance combined with amazing economy. This is the same powerplant as fitted to the 407 HDi coupe.

Equipment levels & finish is of a very high standard, & whilst only available with the 6 speed Tiptronic, the ability to occasionally use the manual selection is a bonus.

Wheels are standard 18 inch alloys & I expect the tyres will be expensive when due. Otherwise, so far very impressed.

    Cheers,
    K

I have the 407 V6 Petrol wagon with the 6 speed auto. Lovely engine, horrid gearbox

This car would be so much better with a manual.
