    Default 206GTI180 Kerb Weight

Could some with a 206GTI180 please scan their manual with the page with kerb weight and email it to me.
Mine didn't come with a manual and I need it for Rally Calder and counter weighting if required.

    Thanks,

    Brett

My manual says the kerb weight for the 180 is 1159kg.

Will put a pic after I get back from the docs.

So 100kg heavier than the normal GTi?
Still, the 1.6 is 50kg heavier, which has always seemed very strange, maybe the 1050 figure is suspect?

I was surprised myself. I'd always believed that the 180 was just over 1000kg. However that's not what the book says. Unless I'm reading the wrong column. My VIN has 2CRFKA in it so I assume the correct kerb weight is the one in the far column.

Edit: If I'm googling correctly the normal GTI is 1125kg (VIN RFN)which makes the 180 only 34kg heavier.

I think the original 206 GTi (with 15" rims) was lighter than later 16" versions (around 20kg heavier in alloy wheels alone). The original docs that came with the 1999-2000 version quote the weight as 1050kg.

The main weight gain on the 180 is the new inlet and exhaust manifolds, the beefy rear 45deg suspension arms that were added and that enormous rear muffler. The wheels on the 180 are lighter than the 16" shod 206 GTi, plus there is no spare wheel.
    Regards,

    Simon

Potentially bad news for Brett though as he may have to ballast his car back up to 1159kg for the rally. A lower kerb weight would have been better news.

Depends how much weight he's been able to remove when he built the car. Based on my experience with another car though I wouldn't be surprised if he'd managed to get well under the original kerb weight even with the cage in.

Luckily I final got RVCS site to work after ringing their help desk.

It lists TARE weights for standard GTI as 1031kg and RC(180) as 1057kg.

Going to the local weigh bridge tomorrow to check, but the scales at Mallala read 1170kg with me in the car and half a tank. Subtract a 100kg for me(I have a really heavy suit and helmet).

Interestingly the car was losing 6kg for every five laps race.

Looks like I won't need to ballast the car.

    Thanks,

    Brett
