Don't you wish you had a crate of those Peugeot sport parts?

Thanks, gives me some more incentive to finish the 505. I should be able to recommence in 2 weeks, after returning a 203 to its owner and relocating the 306 and 205 I have bought recently!

Great site Bobby thanks for posting.

Does anyone have any pictures of the bob-tailed 504s entered in one of the Safaris?
I had a couple of pictures but can't locate the source.
From memory the cars were cut off just behind the rear window.

Wouldn't have been any of the major rallies, regulations were quite strict much more so than here.
    Maybe an early Dakar event?

Hi Paul, I ran a 504 in Safaris on and off from 1985 to 1992. Finally managed to finish in 1992 and won the class and a Director's award.

From 1989 the 504 had a big lump in the bootlid to fit two spares (15inch off road tyres). That made it look a bit odd so maybe you remember that as "bobtail"?

As far as Ican recall there were only ever 3 pugs, mine and a 504 and 505 that were run by the same two guys over a couple of events a few years later, so maybe as Graham says it was one of the OS events.

    Cheers

Later on the utes were homologated into Group B, mainly so that Dave Horsey could win the African Championship in 1984.

    Default Bob-tailed 504 rally cars.

    Thanks for the responses.
They were definately cut down cars not add-ons.
One photo was of a dark red car in a dilapidated garage.
    Would have been overseas.
The cars seemed to be cut and shut at the front boot lip just behind the rear window.
Rear pannel was flat and vertical. Tail lights were embedded in it.
Would have had a different fuel tank too.

Was thinking of creating a replica if the "tin-worm" invaded the boot area too much.

Unfortunately, Bobby, these parts are no longer available from Peugeot Sport. I also want the same items you do, we are talking to custom manufacturers now but the price is too high for just a few pieces and we cannot find enough people for a group buy. I will keep looking and let you know if something comes up.

Thanks Thanos, I will also advise you, if I know anything. Group buy would be perfect, but we are probably not enough people interested ....
