Default 405 srdt just got written off.

405SRDT SEDAN JUST GOT WRITTEN OFF. The car was involved in a passenger side collision.
The car has 72 hours in a holding yard at Woolloongabba. If no peugeot enthusiast is interested in buying it, it will go to the sharks that take these wrecks off your hands. I just spent thousands on the engine and injectors etc etc. Lots of good parts to be had. If anyone is interested in buying it phone me on 0423663279 and make an offer. Remember I only have 72 hours. Thanks guys. I write this through buckets of tears.
    Thanks
    Susan

    Default written off?

    Hi Susan,
This is Ben up in Morayfield. You came to see me a few weeks ago. What happened to your car?!?!? Written off? Thats terrible! With all the effort you have put into it, I just cant believe it. How bad was the hit? Have you had any thoughts about fixing it? The reason I say that is if you need a shell, You can have one of mine for nothing, they will only go to the scrap yard anyway. I cant believe it was hit! Are you ok?

If there is anything I can do to help outas far as the car goes, let me know.

    Ben

Default 405 srdt just written off

    Hi Ben.
I was just about to send you an email about it all. My son Matthew was driving it (I wasn't in the car). He came out of it without a scratch & so did the 4x4 driver but the poor pug is a goner. It was Matthew's fault. Thanks for your very kind offer but I don't have the strength to even consider putting humpty dumpty back together again. Want to make an offer on it?!!!! You know how good the engine is. I'm so upset & I must admit quite angry about the whole thing. Just when I had it perfect....this happens. Its been a crappy Monday. I don't know what I have to do next but I'm sure I'll be hearing from the 4x4 man's insurance company. I'll go to the holding yard tomorrow and remove some personal effects & I suppose I have to take the plates off & get it deregistered. Thanks for your concern Ben.
P.S. I don't know how to add pics on this site so go to my Face Book page for pics. I'll sign you in as a friend if you can't get access.

You poor devil. I feel for you. At least it made the ultimate sacrifice and protected the boy.
It might pay to inform the insurance about your maintence record costs which should give a better write off valuation. I thought my day was tough!

Genuinely sorry to hear that Susan. I am glad your son is OK though. You can replace a car. All the best.

    Ben
I've got a good (very good, no rust, no dings paint good enough to tidy up) 405 SRDT sedan bodyshell. Motor has had it, and all the bits are coming off. Still fitted with doors, bonnet boot lid glass, etc. but you'll have to come and get it. Sorry I can't be more help.

    Bruce.

Anyone in the front passenger seat would have been 'lucky' to get away with a broken pelvis, or worse.... Being hit on the opposite side to wear you're sitting is where fortune lies

as i walked home yesterday i looked in the back yard of the local toyota dealership and noticed a land cruiser ute, fairly new one with a banged up door

as you can see in the above pic there are ripples where the door has the intrusion bar, this ute i saw yesterday with a top to bottom dent that would have been 3-4" deep at it's deepest point didn't show a hint of an intrusion bar

anyone want to explain that one

if it is still there this afternoon i'll take a pic

Thank you everyone for your kind words & especially to Stew who highlighted the fact that if my son had been in some little "buzz box", things may have turned out quite differently. The 'ultimate sacrifice' indeed. I've avoided letting those blood sucking vultures from the holding yard get their hands on the car & I have managed to give the pug to someone very deserving. So, to one & all at Aussiefrogs.........so long, farewell & safe driving.
    Cheers
    Susan

Do commercials have to comply with the same ADR rules as Passenger cars?

I have a feeling commercials are governed by different rules?
