    Default 406 ABS/EPS fault message

Since a reconditioned auto fitted in November, the car has started a habit of occasionally throwing up a ABS/EPS not functioning warning on the computer screen, followed by the dash board light for the EPS coming on. No change in power or lost of cruise. If I turn ignition off and then on, fault clears. Happening mostly after driving for half to three quarters of an hour, but sometimes quicker.

Mechanics have replaced the "engine speed sensor" and followed up a few thoughts, but "reading" the computer is not helping with any fault codes to follow.

    Any thoughts gratefully received.

I think you mean ESP, right ?
because the 406 has hydraulic power steering and not the electric.

Suggest buying the LEXIA cable for under AU$100 and reading yourself. Helped with my 206 issue.
