    Default 404 windscreen insert tricks?

Has anyone a trick for inserting the alloy extrusion in the 404?
    Thanks.

Only that you fit it before you fit the windscreen into the car.

I learnt that back in about 1980 when we had just repaired my fathers Porsche 911 and we fitted the screen the way you did and while trying to fit the chrome locking strip we cracked the wimdscreen.

I then asked the winsdcreen bloke who told me there not called a locking strip for nothing.

Insert a length of cord in the slot then place the trim into the wider slot thus created and as you pull the cord out push the rim in to take its place.
