Careful. My father had a towbar fitted to his 407 by the Peugeot dealer he bought it from. It was a Hayman-Reece brand, I'm fairly certain as there they're the only makers of towbars for the 407 we were told. He did mention that it was for towing a caravan, however when he went to tow the caravan the tongue bent, as it was only rated for 70kg! So despite the car being rated to tow the caravan, the tongue was not up to the job. So be careful you don't waste money buying crap that won't do the job!

He considered having it modified by an engineer and uprated, seemed to think it was fairly straightforward to to, too. Of course, Hayman-Reece didn't think it was worth doing.

The Bars distributed by Peugeot are manufactured in NZ - I note the previos remark re the tongue bending -- these cars have a very low rating ball load - I understand that Best Bars in NZ will sell direct to Australia.

    Hope this helps
