    Default 12 valve Douvrin Engine in 504??

    Hi, I'm looking to mount the 12 Douvrin valve engine of my Peugeot 504, the problem is that the engine is tilted the other way, when fitted in Renault.
    Want to have dual weber 45 or 48 DCOE, but then the carbs go up in the hood. Intake manifold dual weber to the engine, which is ideal if the engine sits in a Renault R8, but had enough, make new intake maniflod for the fit of the 504.

    The engine I have is the 2165cc and comes from a Renault Safrane 1994.
    Do you know someone who has assembled 12 Douvrin valve engine in a 504 or 505?
    Is it a bad idea to use such an engine?
    The reason that I'm thinking of a 12 valve engine, is that I hope for more power

    I believe i had a 8v pug motor in my renault for a while so why not do it the other way around.
    I'm watching a mate painfuly rebuild a 12v motor at the moment and the gains seem quite significant over the 8V

    The only thing I think is a bit retro in your plan is going down the road of carbs.
    IF its a race motor running at wot all the time I suppose it wont matter any but if it is a street car the drivability/economy of EFI is far superior.

    How does the 504 go now?

    It is not my 504, it's a rallycar, it seems to work fine!

    It is a 1995cc 12Valve Douvrin, with 2165cc would be Ann faster!
    I think that 2165cc 12Valve is a good choice, if you want to get a quick 504 or 505, with good weight distribution!
