Default 206Gti exhaust manifold knock back again

Has anyone solved this problem in a Gti138?
It was welded before I bought the car and has been rewelded once since.
But the knock is back under acceleration.

    Thanks,

    Brett

    Interesting.

I had the job done and it cured the problem for good - however I sold the car after 4 years and 92,000km or so. I can't say mine was a low km car, but who knows what the factor is, in your case.

It is a poor design, really. All 4 pipes need to be welded together (and also to the outer shell) at the exit of the manifold.
    Regards,

    Simon

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I'm planning on getting mine checked at PQ Auto sometime next week because mine has that rattling noise. It's not a buzzing sound at 2800 rpm it's more of a rattling noise and it's sort of independent of rpm. I only hear it when I press on the gas pedal, especially so up a hill where i'm going slow, so the noise is much more discernible.

my 2002 206 gti is at 84000km, i've yet to check my previous owners' log book if it has been fixed (will do so tonight). At first i thought the rattle was the engine mount case, because a few of the plastic screws that mount them onto the engine broke off, so i tied it onto the mount with cable ties, but *still* heard the rattle.

It's a really annoying sound - does it affect performance/lifetime in anyway? It was the first thing I noticed when I drove the car, but my friend said it was just some external thing rattling. I had a look online at exhaust manifold replacements and they look bloody expensive, a weld would be much cheaper.

If it is in fact the manifold, as described on Peugeotlogic then I don't think it has any performance or life issues.

    It's just extremely annoying.

Yes the noise was only under acceleration.
The re-weld fixed it and it has been fine since.
Mine sounded like a big end had gone

Or it could be a great incentive to throw in a stainless steel exhaust system in with a properly designed manifold and getting rid of that rusty pretzel shaped mangle of tubes...if you have the money lying around...
