    Default Hi and Help !

    Hi all,

Was a registered user previously but my registration must have dropped off, not to worry.

Anyhow, I need help with an alternator removal, the car is a 5/99 306 XSI.

Essentially I can not remove the alternator from the space in which it is located. I have tried getting at it from below (out past the compressor space) and from the top (have moved the steering pump but the alternator snags against the radiator).

It would seem that I need to remove the radiator assembly, can anyone provide guidance please.

    Two Dogs

    306 XSI

    (Gone - 206 GTI, 405).

P.S. I have ordered a Haynes Manual but am not confident it will help.

I just rebuilt mine on the s16, removed the intake manifold to get it out. Not sure what the xsi engine bay looks like but i am sure it will be tight too.

That's how it looks to me as well, either that or the radiator.

    Thanks

Welcome back and remind me to tell the you joke about two dogs, but better put that in the pond
The less one interacts with rude, ignorant, critical and argumentative members. The more peaceful life becomes.
