    Default 206 gti 180 5 seater???

    Hi all

bit of a silly question but would it be possible to retrofit a lap sash seat belt to the rear seat to make it a 5 seater?

I would have thought the 180 would still have the seat belt mounting point for a fifth belt?

    cheers

Possible to do physically but NOT legally as the 206 GTi has been homologated under ADR's as a 4 seater. Also there is a mandatory ADR requirement that limits the number of rear seat occupants according to the minimum width of rear seat.

Back in early 70's we wanted to homologate the Renault R15 as a 5 seater, as it's R12 sibling, upon which it was based, was homologated as a 5 seater... But the distance between the two rear inner arm rests was only wide enough to be homologated as a 4 seater.... So we removed the rear inner arm rests, resubmitted car and had it homologated as a 5seater.

    G'day,
the middle passenger would have to be really thin. There is not a lot of room back there.

I had 3 adults in the back of my 206 GTi, not ideal. Once i drove a friend to the pub to pick up his girlfriend and friend. We arrived to find there was a 3rd girl and she had a big fat butt. needless to say they were pissed off- but they fitted.
    -good for kids
-OK for two adults/ one adult 2 kids
-if using a baby capsule or booster seat the center seat can't be used

Edit: I'm assuming you'd go to to a wrecker and get a rear seat from a standard GTi, as the 180 rear seat is designed for two people only. Its the only way to do it.

Back in the day, I was waiting for the 180 to be released, I purchased my 206 GTi Rallye when i realized the new 180 was to have 4 seats only. We did may trips with 3 in the back, but before my 3rd was born the car was written off Common sense prevailed and i got a larger car (plus my wifes 406D9V6 was quicker- can't have that, LOL)
