    Default 1975 Ti

Hi Ti Community, I've had mine since 3/08/02 nearly 10 years!

(previously had GLs (2) over another 10-15 years)

Its had an engine rebuild 08/2003
    has blue exec 505 seats
    505 rear springs & struts
    new black carpet
and a cut down gear stick
soon to have a new digital stereo

It drives pretty well esp after Paris re-did all the front bushes/rubbers among others things in Nov

it was a grey colour, when the previous owner (one family owned) had it resprayed and it came back green

website software knows i've attached some particular photos before & says no not again
so they're at the bottom of this thread on seeking nuts for alloys where i had some help from the frogger community. (thanks again)

i can tell you that if it is the one mentioned in your sig it's not a 77 model

    1 - TI's weren't on sale here in 77
2 - push button door handles makes it 74 at the latest

Hahaha yes it's the one in the sig - someone saw a pic and exclaimed " well that's def a 77 model!" so that's what my sig says

    Lol

Previous Owner said it had a full stainless "custom" exhaust (?), it's got a chunky a/c unit roughly where the front passengers legs (would usually) reside and a motor that no go...

My father has recently given his to my son who does not yet have his licence. Dad's had it since 1982.

It's a 1974 yellow manual with sunroof, and tan interior.

It's standard apart from trapezoidal headlights which he bought in France in 1983 and carried home in his luggage. He didn't think they looked right with the local twin headlights.

    He was right about that!

My Dad's 1972 had the 4 eyes but his 1977 had the traps. Much better!

    Default Ti

    We have two:

1972 "injection" in original condition and mechanically A1 - could use a re-spray at some stage - alpine white and been in the family since new. Will be in the next generations forever.

1979 TI conversion - alpine white - was daily driver until this year and now on historic plates.

    Default 1974 Peugeot 504 TI

I have a white 1974 model Peugeot 504 TI, 4 speed manual. Fortunately has zero rust, and immaculate original interior. Original paint is now in quite poor condition, but will get it resprayed one day. Bought it last year from Bendigo, shipped it to Kununurra where I was working - it did a trip from Kununurra to Darwin one day - 800km on a 40 degree day and fully loaded including the family, luggage and 2 bikes. Oversize radiator helped! Then shipped it back to Melbourne and it now resides in Portland, western Victoria. I've done 6,000 trouble-free km's thus far. It's the daily drive.

I was wondering if you may be able to help me, the car did not come with manual, I would like to purchase one for him, do you know if they are available to purchase. Many thanks

Hi Carolboy, this is probably not the right section but I have a 504 Haynes manual still for sale in the Parts for Sale/Wanted section of this forum. I'd be happy to offer it for your dad for $10 plus postage if interested.

    The ad is here:
    FS 2x Haynes; 504 & 505 manuals

The cover reads "Peugeot 504 petrol, 1968 to 1982, all models 1766cc to 1971cc"

Send me a pm via the forum if interested

    Just seen this post!
I have a 1987 504 pick up with a 2lt TI motor going thru to a BA7/5 gearbox with a TI diff.centre ," it came to Australia as a diesel and I brought it in Canberra as above!! Since then, I'll used a 505 S/W rear axels and drum brakes, 604 front brakes with 504 hubs. running TI rims . Been using it as my daily driver for 5 years now and runs very well. It will take any load and then some!

I know this post is old, but I wanted to add mine to the list. I've recently acquired a 76 Ti, which was in the hands of a 92 year old since 1978...so I don't imagine it's on the register. I guess it's possible though. Can anyone help with ID of colour or other details? Is the ti assembled in Australia, or France? It's a manual, but has had a BA7/5 upgrade at some point.

    Avocado green?

Not sure about French assembled 504s but the Australian assembled ones have a largish plate in the engine bay mounted just behind the strut tower top specifying various things including where in Australia it was made.

It looks like a very nice 504.

    Thanks Peter,

I didn't think I'd ever own another 504 (owned my first in 1996, 3 others since then), but then this came up. I plan to hold onto this for a long time! Absolutely stoked it's a Ti.

Tis are a bit thin on the ground these days and to find a good one such as this makes you one very lucky person. By the way, my father grew up in Greenlane.

Greenlane is not too far from us, we're on the North Shore in Auckland.

Yes, I'm lucky to have found it...I'm still pinching myself. Sometimes I think cars choose us, rather than the other way around. My dad spotted it, and the following day we'd bought it. He had one new when I was a kid, hence my lifelong fascination with these things. I must admit I haven't seen it in the flesh yet!

I actually owned the last TI sold in NSW. It was the same Advocado green and was immaculate and with only 50,000 km on it in 1982? when I bought it. It was like new with a perfect service history and had been babied BUT compared to my 1972 injection it was a dog! It was course, noisey, poorly finished and such a disappointment compared to the earlier one. I only kept it for a year. I suspect that the air con. unit was the source of a lot of the courseness At the same time my wife had a 79 carby 504 on which I replaced the twin carbs with a Weber and a good exhaust. It was so much smoother than the TI. We sold that after 12 years and I bought it back 15 years later and kept it for another 4-5 years! [ and it is still going]. What the injected cars had was great torque off idle and the ability to rev close to 7000rpm. I well remember putting 180 miles away in 2 hours one day in South Aust before the days of radar! Nevertheless I could be tempted back into one!

I'm really hoping this one drives as well as my old Ti. That one was a 75, white, with cloth tombstone style seats and it had the earlier brass badged grille. I owned that car from 96 till 99. It was an absolutely gorgeous drive...but unfortunately no other 504 I've since driven was as nice. I remember it's ability to rev was surprising...it was deceptively quick.
