Default Service help for a 307 HDI

Hi all I have recently purchased a 2006 307 HDI touring which has a 1.6l.
I plan to do a oil and filter service this weekend.
I dont have a manual as of yet so am trying to find as much info as possible on servicing
and caring for my new car.
I have basic skills, tools and a good shed.
I have driven the car for a week and love the feel and the ecconomy.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreaciated.

Nice car. Perhaps you could post in the Peugeot forum instead of the Renault forum........ You'll get much better responses.

    Cheers

    Default Been there

I have 2lt which maybe similar. Completed 1 service since warranty ran out at 100,000. Bought a Gregory manual which has been helpfull. Found the oil filter housing that way. The Froggy forum has been helpful also with advice from members and finding old posts. Not sure if 1.6lt is the same as the 2lt. For the 2lt, you need to remove the engine cover and move the coolant tank away for access to the oil filter. Made a tool to undo the filter cover by cutting down a hex socket and welding a short rod to it as a handle. Damage to the A/C condensor very easy to do if you were using a ring or ratchet and socket. Vey little spillage when the cover removed even though it is upside down. Sump plug way back on the sump a bit of a stretch. Alright if you had a hoist or pit. Used 5W/30 Synthetic oil and must be ok for a particulate filter. The Valvoline web site has a good section for oil recomendations.
My 307 uses 5.25 lt. If you need any more help, PM me and I will pass on a contact number.

    Default thanks

Thanks for the info. Sorry for posting in the wrong place.
I have done a bit of a search on AF but most of the info is for the 2lt.
I will do some more research.
I plan to do the service tomorrow hopefully.
The oil that I have is Nulon 5w but I could only find a Ryco filter.

Most owners of French vehicles will highly recommend genuine Perflux filters.

Make sure you use a 'C2' oil rated for DPFS use otherwise you'll degrade the performance of the particulate filter.

Nulon make several different 5w oils but only one suitable for particulate filters : Supercheap sell it :

    http://www.nulon.com.au/products/Ful...fe_Engine_Oil/

They also sell it in 10 litre containers which makes it a little cheaper.

Supercheap had one of their regular 20% off Storewide sales today ...

    Cheers

    Every 20 000 km or 1 year
    - Renew oil*
    - Replace oil filter
    - Replace pollen filter
    - Purge fuel filter (diesel)

    Every 40 000 km or 2 years
    - Replace air filter
    - Replace fuel filter

    Every 120 000 km
    - Refill additive for particulate filter

    Every 180 000 km or 10 years

*Apparently, it can't hurt to halve the oil change interval for the 1.6 HDi engines.

    Viscosity grade : 5W-30
Type or quality : preferably "PSA B71 2290", minimum "ACEA C2" or "ACEA C3"
    Capacity : 3.75 l incl. oil filter, 3.25 l excl. oil filter (1.6 HDi)
Dipstick level, min. to max. : 1.5 l (1.6 HDi)
