Servicing in Sydney?

Just bought my first pug 3 weeks ago and loving it: a 94 306 s16. Needs an 80,000km service (timing belt, brake pads and the usual). It seems like a bit of a minefield out there in terms of servicing, i.e what it should cost and where to go. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I know some of us are using dealers, and some are using French car specialists.

have just been to Asquith & johnstone at parramatta today, not bad in service. $159 for oil/filter change (incl parts and labours), cheaper than the quote given by Trivett Classic at Arncliff to my friend Gary (gold 307).

Also, they have just imported a peugeot technician from uk, he seems to know what's he doing on the pug.

I am in Ryde but don't mind travelling for a decent place. Have heard Paul Vasallo on Vic Road is decent and not too picey, anybody with any experience?

A&J hey wilson? i've been there, people who read my posts know how i feel about them. I know the uk you're talking about, can't remember his name anymore but he seems to be the good mechanic. BUT there are the other ones i worry about and the $110/hour labor is just too much eek!
spent $1000 on what seemed to be just a minor idle problem.

Next place i will be checking out is Eurotech in Gosford. The guy was very helpful when i called him on a saturday. Spent 30 min talking to me explaining how things worked on the car. And he's only around $60 an hour. Also try Colliers Automotive, he was pretty good when i spoke to him also. Only thing is he does not have the diag 2000 machine. Eurotech does

I would recommend Colliers on James Ruse Drive, Granville end - they're not too far for you. I suggest you give them a call and they'll be able to give you and idea of what it will cost.

Stone, if you are in Ryde go to Paul Vassallo.
The guy is so honest & really knows his work.
He has worked on our 205 GTI when we had it & the 405 STI we have now, keeping them in tip top condition.
We've used him for 5 years (since in Sydney) & no problems what so ever.
Drop in & say G'day first & see if you like him.
