Default Fair price for a bad 205 GTI

    Hi All

I have a chance to buy a white 1989 205 GTI. The car ir pretty scruffy as has been sitting outside for years since the clutch went.

Bad points: Bonnet badly dented. Needs new clutch and alternator. rear side window smashed by vandals. paintwork flaky.

Good points: no sunroof. strong motor. dash intact. no body damage, heaps of useable parts. In Sydney.

what would be a fair price to offer for the car, baring in mind its probably only good for parts?

    cheers

Id say no more than $1500 for something you can't drive.

The cool thing is that with some form of guidence (manual, internet how to's, a friend that knows better) they are pretty easy cars to work on.

I already have one so dont really have any intention of getting another one back on the road, more interested in having a source of spare parts.

stick a list of parts needed in the far sale section and the replies will come flooding in

there are many on here who have parts and there is also a list of parts suppliers that will also have a variety of new parts as well

    $500.00 is a better price.

I have bought 3 GTI's over the last 2 years for less than $500.00 each
