Default Group buy: High CR forged PRV pistons

I am building a high output 2.8 PRV rally engine which will basically be a copy of the works unit, but with significantly higher compression ratio (11:1). The plan is to have Wiseco custom make forged domed pistons and they are willing to do a run of 18 to 24 pistons for a set-up charge of around US$400 and US$125 per piston. This works out to less than $US1000 for a set of six custom forged pistons, a great deal in my book. I will send them a works piston and liner so they can copy the location of the valve pockets and I will spec out the dome volume (does anybody know the combustion chamber volune for the standard 2.8 liter head?

So, in anybody interested? Andy, this set-up will make a better engine than the 24v you were considering.

If this was 1 year from now I would - but I can't swing it this year.

I will take a set , as have started work on a 12 valve motor and dont have pistons ,

What bore size are they ? do I need to bore out my liners by .5mm ?

Do you have a cam profile for the works motors?

What type of inlet did the factory use ?

Good, we now need one more. I may have one over here.

91mm. Unless you have new liners the wise thing to do would be to go oversise and bore them by 0.5mm. This is what we did with the 504 XN liners and it worked really well. I will ask Wiseco if the pistons remain the same and the rings are oversized, this way we can have an option on boring out.

This guy does regrinds for the Group 5 Alpines, the profile is very close to the Works 504 V6. Get the oversize valves as well.

Triple 46mm Webers, made of unobtainium. PMO makes an updated (better) version.

You will need to fabricate an intake. they are not available but Robert Cherry has one you can look at. If your rules allow it, PMO also offers triple throttle bodies. I am sure that with MS fuelling and a programmable ignition like MSD 6AL you can see close to 300 bhp.
