    Default 406 Anti Pollution fault

    Hi there,

I changed my battery today (not bad for a 2001 car with original battery) but the "anti pollution" fault warning light and display message came on upon restarting, and has not disappeared despite several trips of up to 30km. The car is running fine, so I find it very hard to believe the coincidence of a genuine fault.

Is there a simple, non Peugeot dealer way to reset the alarm that anyone knows of? Or can anyone suggest what may have failed?

Thanks for any help that you can provide.

Haakon said this back in 2002 (search 406 reset)

To reset the ECU and get it used to any changed parameters from mucking with things, just disconenct the battery for 10 minutes. Check the handbook, but if its like the 406 you turn on the ignition (without starting it) for 10 seconds and the ECU tests itself and says hi to all the sensors from scratch.

Many thanks Andrepug. I'll give it a try!
