Default Urgent !!!! Location of paint code for Peugeot 306

All, I'm getting a section of my car repainted after a small bingle, nothing serious.

Anyway I just got a call from the smash repairers saying they can't find the colour code for the car. Its a 1995 N3 - 2 door - XR model.

The code is supposed to be on the riveted metal plate next to the left hand suspension strut (when facing the car from the front). There is a reference but it indicates a Citroen paint colour when typed into their system.

Can anyone hlep me with this ? The car is taped up ready to be sprayed and I was supposed to pick it up this arvo.

The work is being done by MBI Smash Repairs in Marrickville.

    Cheers

Not sure if the code position is different between N3 & N5, but mine is behind the passenger side (left) macpherson strut tower on the horizontal flange of the bulkhead/firewall & should be 4 letters long.

It's possible the paint colour is shared between Cit & Pug.

It won't be on a plate, it will be four letters like suggested, looks like it it written on with a white texter. Pugs & Cits do share colours too. Diablo Red is also Rouge Lucifer.

What colour is it? Someone here will probably know from just that info.
    Regards,

    Garth.

Citroens and Pugs do share paint codes....
Paint code for my S16 is M0YC and it is also EYC and EYCC. You will find EYC in Citroen paint codes too....

What's the paint code you are after? Try googling it....

put a photo up of the car and someone will soon tell you what the colour and code is

the smash repair should have a book at any rate telling them what cars in what years had what colours

Thanks for all your help. Apparently they found the paint but it hasn't resulted in an exact match. My car is a metallic silver and the colour used was plain silver.

I remember when the car was ordered (new) my Mum requested the metallic silver, which was an optional extra. Does this mean the "metallic" colour is an after market option and not reflected in the paint code ?

    Cheers

Do you have the paint code? If you have it you can try googling it and the guys from UK and an aussie site called peugeot logic has all the pug/cit paint codes and you can check whether if the metallic option is reflected in the paint code....

but afaik the paint code should reflect the paint, and therefore all options like metallic or mica paints.

I had a small incident with my 306xsi and had to get paint. On my 96 car the paint code was stamped on a plate in the boot on the back wall.
