    Default 205 gti exhaust

    Hi all

any comments on what is the best exhaust system to run.

    I have a 91 GTI.

The rear muffler is rattling but haven't had a chance to check the rest of the system.

from what i have read, it seems that keeping the exhaust close to standard is best as the factory system is pretty good.

I don't want to make the exhaust too loud either.

    cheers

It may be expensive but go with the factory system. Not noisy and flow fine for a standard car. Otherwise something similar to what you have if cost is an issue.

The standard exhaust is massively expensive actually. Even from Peugeot.

    You might be surprised.

I went through the same exersize recently. The S3 rear muffler part number is 1726 34 but unfortunately they are no longer available. I believe that this has just recently happened.
Your only option is to go aftermarket.

6 weeks after peugeot told me that the part is no longer available it has arrived...
I went to see and it is indeed a muffler for an S3 205. I am sorry for the mis information. Hopefully it didn't cause too much trouble. Total price $215.00 (ask for this price if they want more).

    SORRY SORRY...

I just read back my post before (3 months later) they aren't to bad. You can go to Puegeot and quote your chassis number and they sort which system you need and supply in some cases.

I know someone that did that with a series 3 exhaust. Darren I think.

Once again, sorry, std exhaust aren't massively expensive.

I have question regardarding the standard 205 gti exhaust setup for a series 2. In my car it looks as follows:
    1-exhaust manifold
    2-pipe (with lambda sensor)
    3-catalitc converter
    4-centre muffler (???)
    5-pipe
    6-rear muffler

Is this the correct set-up, or did someone added/left something in there (item 4)???
