    Default 206GTI180 ABS removal query

Has anyone removed the ABS for track work on a 206gti180.
I currently have an ABS fault on a track car and speedo is not working.
The BMS has been told there is no ABS but the fault still comes up, even with ABS pump unplugged.
The group N build manual shows removing the ABS unit, but doesn't indicate an electronic change.
Any one have any experience on removing ABS?

Does it have a dedicated fuse?

Maybe it could be as simple as that.

I'll check if there is a fuse, but it was disconnected from the cable.
The BSI might also be an issue.
It seems the ABS unit also controls the speedo.
I'm fitting a Monit and that can give a speed reading any way, so I could just rip the lot out.
It's only the stop light on the dash that will continue to stay on.

Otherwise I fork out for an ABS pump unit

I can confirm that if you remove the fuse for the ABS, the speedo also stops working. They are definitely linked

Looks like abs system is coming out.
    Too expensive to replace.
Vacuum booster going in to replace EBD/ESC unit and brake lines out of 206 xt with no ABS going in.

Weighing up putting a bias valve in, but it would require revised brake lines, as there are individual pipes to each caliper.

Anyone have experience of 17x7 wheels with a 24mm offset on a 206?

    Thanks,

    Brett
