    Default 306 wheels & 225/50 R15 tyres on 206 GTi

I've heard 215/50 R15 tyres will fit on the car's stock 15" alloy wheels with 28 offset. So if I were to fit my sister's spare 306 15" alloys with a 19 offset, I should be able to fit 225/50 R15 tyres under my pug. I've had a look in my guards and the wheels won't stick out with the extra 9mm further out, but has anybody tried this? Will my tyres hit the top of the guard (I don't think the GTi has that much travel)? Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this matter.

    Default Speedboat 206

+1 on that Tim, with that much rubber wet road adhesion is very much a deleted option.
Would be awesome on a dry race track but!

No, for 90% of the year it's all dry roads at 40+ degrees surface temperature. If it rained more there wouldn't be so many damned lo-luxes around here . After speaking to a few local tyre shops they only have Wanli 195/50s and Falken 205/50s in my price range (under $700 the whole set of 4). No 215s or 225s at all on a 15" . Might have to buy them from a less bogan corner of the worlds where there are non-v6/v8 cars around...

Any opinions on Falken ZE912s from somebody who's tried them? Any other tyres I can get in Cairns or Brisbane for <$170 each with good performance? Up here it'd cost $215 for a Yokohama S.Drive, but don't know prices in Brisbane (where I will be driving soon to see family).

EDIT: Now I come to think of it, anybody want to sell some 16" rims? 225s are cheap and easy to find in a 16" variety.
