Default advice needed 306 water pump, fuel injection and brakes

i have a 2001 306 rallye and after months of agony and 3500 grand later i have resurrected it from dire straights. though my time repairing the car i have been advised that my water pump is leaking and that it may be located near my timing belt which is a hassle in terms of labour costs just to access. can anyone tell me if the water pump is in fact located with the timing belt.

i have recently had to replace my exhaust after my catalytic convertor collapsed and clogged my system literally chocking the car half to death. i was advised that this may due to a faulty sensor in the engine detecting more oxygen and injecting too much fuel. i was wondering if anyone had an estimate $wise on this tunning.

i am experiencing a loud droning noise when i need to brake heavily of when the cars weight is pushing down on the front on a hill. i have been told this is because of the compounds used in modern pads but i find that strange. any hints on this?

    thanks guys
    happy pugging

Yes, the water pump is one of the items driven directly by the timing belt.

The tuning is all computer controlled. It uses readings from many sensors, one of which is the oxy/lambda sensor in the exhaust system. If the cat was replaced, I'd like to think whoever did it also replaced the sensor, but perhaps they did not.
