Default 307 Genuine Chinese ebay key

    Hi All,
Has anyone successfully replaced their 307 key with an aftermarket one. I have just bought one on ebay, as the rubber button has fallen out of the original. It was quite a simple job to swap the board over but the car won't start. It just cranks over without firing. All help greatly appreciated.

    Ah, this old chestnut

Inside the old key housing will be a tiny little transponder chip.

You need to swap this over to the new key, so the immobiliser sensor around the ignition barrel can talk to it.

It is only very small, and looks a little bit like this:

Oh, I wish I had known the buttons were avaliable. I hate to buy the Chinese try hards. The guy I spoke to at Trivett simply told me I was up for $300 odd. Anyway the chip was located and the new key works now. Thank you both for your advice.

The buttons are also available on UK Ebay. Not sure if they are genuine but they look good.
