    Default 306 XR Headlights

Hi Iwas wondering if anyone has encountered same problem of no low beam lights but full high beam on 1995 306XR. Is this only a globe problem Thanks

G'day i'm not sure myself but I'd start with the globes then the switch. If it's neither of them check the fuses and relays!

    Cheers Chris

I'd checks the switch...... it is very unlikely that both globes with blow at the same time... I think they are wired separately (or at least on separate fuses) to at least keep one going if the other blows... Although I could be wrong on the 306....

306 indicator stalks are known to have problems with grime getting into them and shorting them out. In particular the relay goes off even when the lights are off..

I have had this problem in both the '94 and '01 versions of the 306 I have cleaned the stalk out by hand and solved in in both cases.

I would think that your problem might be in the high beam switch. You might find it is cancelling out your low beam at all time, not just when switching up to high.

Remove the indicator stalk and give it a good clean out with some goop remover and when dried plug it back in. Even if this doesn't solve your head light problem it will help with the reliability of the indicators etc in the future.... and it is a simple job....

If they are both fitted at the same time originally, why not?

My 306 had both globes fail at the same time. More commonly, most people won't notice one blown until the other blows or someone points it out to them.
