Icon14 505 GTI Lower radiator hose - alternative part

It seems Peugeot are no longer supplying this part and imported ones are $60. But I discovered part no. CH1727 (upper hose from a Ford 2.2 Diesel Econovan) does the job perfectly for $16 retail.

    Default hoses

    Thom,

Our 505s seem to be living parallel lives. I replaced the bottom radiator hose on mine the other day, except I just used a really good second hand one from my mechanic, who has heaps of spares. I would probaby have bought the Ford one had I known about it.

    Thanks for the tip,
    James

Default 505 GTI Lower radiator hose - alternative part

    Hi Thom

Unless my eyes are decieving me, those hoses on Ebay appear to be for the 2.lt carby engines not GTi/STi injection motors but thanks for the tip on the alternative ones you listed.
    Regards

Before the forum died someone said a 1979 mazda 626 hose could replace the top hose if you cut a bit off it. I can't see those being very common but they've got to be easier to get than 505 ones!

So, now I'm off to replace my radiator hoses.

    Thanks

    Hayden

There is a Ford hose that will fit the upper bypass hose from the thermostat with a little trimming but I don't knowwhat it is, I think it comes from some type of falcon, a helpful Autopro bloke got me out of trouble with it a couple of years ago.
