Default My 206 GTi 180 beeps when cornering

    Hi all,

Does anybody know why my car beeps when I corner sharply?

It is not at high speed, just around 50-60km/h, usually at the same round-about. The tires are not even screeching. But the car will beep once, the same beep as when the fuel tank is low.

    Very strange.

Does it beep when the oil pressure or level is critically low? I have this occurring in an Alfa.

    Default Physics, my dear Watson.

I would suggest as you go around the round-a-bout, the fuel slophs over to the left, exposing the low fuel sensor. If this happens with a full tank it's an unlikely explanation, but if it happens at half a tank or so it could be the answer. Or the sensor may be faulty.

Even going at normal speed around a round-a-bout, especially a large one, will cause a good 30 degrees or more tilt to the surface of the fuel. Centrifugal forces are quite strong.

That said though, even when I hammer it around a corner I've not noticed my GTi beep (I don't have 180 though).

The beep is also associated with either the handbrake being on or the door not being shut.

In this case, I suspect one of your door sensors being slightly out of alignment.

    Long time no post, codgamer

Default Air bag - safety restraint

Air bag system. Under extreme braking and turning, my air bag / safety system starts chirping like a constipated gallah telling me it's been activated and ready to deploy.

...No black eyes yet though. It's not a Peugeot but similar situation. May I suggest taking the roundabout at a greater speed to see what activates!

    Moo.

Does it not say on the display? Every beep I get has a corresponding message that stays on the display for a few seconds. Door, Seatbelt, Fuel, Airbag, ESP off. Can't think of any other options.

When the beep happened, I looked at the center console but there is nothing.

Maybe I should try cornering with a full tank first and next time I take the car to service, I will ask them to check the doors and handbrakes.

Hello SLC206, Hong Kong roads are great for my 206. But Peugeot is so popular here, they closed the last dealership, now you have to order it directly from Peugeot France!

Oh, and it reminds me of my dad's old company magna. (1998)
If you cornered hard with low fuel it'd cut out!! Could go for miles on the fuel level, but one corner and whoops, out you go!

Perhaps its an undiscovered option of the gti180. In anticipation of driver swearing during hard cornering, the car thoughtfully attempts to censor the driver with a "beep", making for a more civilised drive.

    G'day

180 drivers don't swear. They laugh at the cars in the rear view mirror.

Can you believe they don't make a sports car anymore!!!!???? Not ONE!!!

They're becoming the sad Jap version of BMW. Everything looks the same, just in different sizes. The only problem is that they are all becoming hybrid, and all look like the odyssey after it got hit with the ugly stick!!

    LOW BRAKE FLUID
Sorry I didn't get this out sooner log in issues, you may have already fixed it, this happened to my gti180 and it was just that. The brake fluid level sat within the low-high markers however still beeped when cornering. My car has under 40,000klms. Added brake fluid and fixed. I would beep when exiting motorways and not even that hard cornering.
