V6 cambelt is done every 120ks. Spark plugs every 60ks as the inlet manifold has to be removed to get at them.

    Hey Kermit,

Is it true that you should take into account the years the cam belt has been on the car also? I believe 4 years (or 120k) is the max recommended time. Could be wrong.

My coupe has done 85k but just had the belt changed to be safe!

Yes you should take into account the years. The V6 is rated at 6 years or 120k, which ever comes first.

K2 is a '01 model so next year is the six year mark will arrive about the same time as the maximum ks. I expect to have more than 100k on the car this time next year and close to 120k by the end of '07.

not a hard manifold to take off anyway which should be a relief but still a PITA when all you want to do is change the plugs

from memory it is 1/2 a dozen bolts or so and a few ancillaries and it's off and of course maybe gaskets need replacing ( 3 on the manifold from memory )

Not something I need to worry about. That is what having a good Pug dealer to service your car is for. I can highly recommend Coles @ Lismore.

Me too. Never had any problems with them over the years I have been going there. They look after loyal French car owners.
You come down from Brisbane to get the car serviced?
If so, I assume you don't like city dealers !

We also go to Coles in Lismore to get our 405 serviced and have been for many years.

diablo6, I have never seen your gti6 around, where do you hide it? I have seen many more peugeots around Lismore over the last few years but never a gti6.

I don't do too many kms in it apart from commuting to Lismore to work, usually during the mad rush hour each day. 306 Gti6 is fairly rare in regional areas. I have not seen another one around here in over 2 years. I suppose Coles did not sell many, especially when the new price was over $40000.
    Cheers

Ouch. Based on my 80k service cost I did a rough calculation for my 120k and came up with $90 for the plugs, $170 for the cambelt, $150 for labour, equalling $800 in total. What else did you get done?

Quite possibly a 120k service, I suspect at that price.

    Hey Pete,

I get mine serviced by Bill McName - Head mechanic the Canberra Peugeot club. I had an oil change, filter, cam belt change, aux drive belt change and general inspection for $555.

You can't beat Bill for price or quality of service. $1700!!! Wow that is huge!
