To replace the crankshaft seal at the clutch end, add another 5 minutes labour to the clutch job, and about $7 for the seal. To replace pulley end crankshaft seal, it's about 1.5 hour job.

If your place is telling you that they need to remove the entire engine to change the clutch, go somewhere else, they obviously don't know what they are doing. I changed the clutch in a 205 GTi with engine in-situ in about 4.5 hours, so don't pay more than $400 labour. Clutch kit itself should cost about $200.

PM Me if you want details of a good mechanic in North West Sydney. He can have it done in a day and better price I reckon too.

It's definitely a 6 hr job maximium. No need to remove the engine. You need to find someone who knows what they're doing. I'd recommend Colliers at Granville. Clutch kits are sub $300.
