Default Cutting the plastic interior on a 205 GTI

    Hi All,

My glove box has completely had it, it's all cracked and the door has fallen off.

Since it looks really bad I want to actually cut the interior plastic and remove the glove box shelf, but somehow manage to keep the trim around the clock and middle instrument panel intact.

Any advice on what tool or tools I can use to cut the glove box shelf off with? I'm worried that the friction from using a saw will crack the plastic elsewhere.

Peronally I wouldn't even try it.

Simply taking the dash off causes cracks, and depending on what year your car is, the fuse box should live in there somewhere.

Best advice I can give is find an ok glovebox lid and replace it.
