Default Locating Stepper Motor on 306 (2lt)

    Hi
I think my 306's stepper motor may need a clean up. The engine management warninig light comes on sporadically and then the car stalls or hops at low RPM. A nameless dealer in N/Perth reascently charged a healthy fee to change the 02 sensor, it was better for a short while but problem is kreepeing back

I looked up some past posts that recommend cleaning the stepper unit with WD40 or similar, so I am keen to give it a try.

Can anyone point me in the direction of this unit all I know is that it shouldbe on the intake side of the motor, probably on the manifold?
What does it look like and are there any tips on servicing it or mistakes to avoid ?

    Thanks

    Jon

Dude, go to Eurocare in vic park.

Corrado did some excellent work on my 307 hdi. I also mentioned the erratic idle/occasional stalling on my 406 2lt and he did a complete throttle body service, ie took it off and cleaned it for free .

He said it might be the stepper motor but his service fixed it perfectly. (btw its on the throttle body)

At least theres a new peugeot dealer as competition for that other mob,
if I ever buy another new pug that is....

I found the stepper motor and cleaned it with Carb Cleaner, the clear spray flushed out black as ink, then gave it a few suirts of silicone lube and refitted.
At first it would not idle at all thought perhaps the silicone spray did not agree with it

Then after a quick trip round the block it was cured

But I'll keep Eurocare in mind, incase of any further problems

    Thanks

    Excellent news, Jon

I hope it idles much more sensibly now.
