Default 405 super tourer on EBay...

I don't know if anyone is interested, but might make a good racer.

I wonder how many of the good bits are available in the world for this? Would cost another $30-50K to build up. There was another 405 ex 2L Super Tourer complete at Cleveland in Brisbane. I don't know what he paid for it, but said $20K would own it.

It was advertised a few times without success. Basically only good for 2 L Sports sedan, but should be reasonably quick, although maintenance and tyres would be a killer.

    Default 405

I had no idea, I just thought I'd let people know. It sounds like it isn't good for much. I'll stick to my 04's!

Might make a good club rally car if built up as a fairly standard Mi16.

It would make an awesome club car, suitable for Motorkhanas, Hillclimbs, Supersprints or even Improved Production racing. You're basically paying for a roll cage and getting the rest for free. If you had a wrecked Mi16, it would be an ideal starting point. Just swap the necessary mechanicals over, upgrading later when money/desire permits. A 405 is always going to out handle a 205!

The only parts interchangeable on that chassis with a road going 405 are the door handles and the windows. The doors have specially fabricated hinges, the wheel arches are tubbed out, therefore not eligible for I.P, (don't think that you can fit 19"x9" wheels under a 405 and still have 50mm susp. travel), none of the suspension pickup points are in the standard position, it has a coil spring rear end, the engine is mounted further forward than standard, upright not slanted back and lower because of the flat sump, and a totally different subframe design.
It might be worth something to someone with a 94 model 405 Super Tourer who writes off their shell. To anyone else its worth a few hundred bucks. There is someone in Australia who can supply parts to build the car to full spec but you'll have to mortgage your house.
