    Default 205 Cold Start Problems

    Hi,

Does anyone have any ideas on how i can solve my cold start problems. I have got a peugeot 205 gti 1.9 and on cold start it turns over but then cuts out straight away unless I keep the revs up to about 1500 rpm for approximately 30 seconds, then it sits there untill warmed up when it drops down and idles nicely at 900 rpm. I have tried a different Supplimentary Air Device which I know to be working correctly and I have also tried another Air Flow Meter (which I also know is good), I have played about with the ignition timing to see if that makes any difference but no luck as yet.

If anyone else has any thoughts it would be much appreciated.

Hmm, sounds very much like the problem I've been having with my car except that I have to keep the revs up for longer. I've been meaning to get around to replacing/cleaning the SAD but haven't yet
Sorry I can't offer any solutions but I'd be interested to hear if you do manage to solve the problem

The engine temp sensor for the injection system may be defective telling the computer the engine is warm, and so not giving it a rich enough mixture. When cold it should have approx 2000 ohms resistance, and when hot maybe 200. These are approximate figures, but you get the idea.

is this SAd the same thing as the cold start capsule? don't know if your car is carb. I had that problem with my 405 carb and it was the capsule that was bad.
