    Default Wheels

Anyone know what other cars share a 4X108 stud pattern, i heard from someone on here that Mk1 golfs have the same pattern, then yesterday i saw a Mk1 GTi that had been in an accident i stopped to have a gander and it had E30 or maybe E21 wheels on it, look like a small alpina wheel, are my eyes deceiving me or am i right???

as far as i know ford focus + fiesta. keep in mind the offset is different tho so i believe to fit these wheels you need spacers. i was told spacers arent recommended but a friend also suggested perhaps to weld the spacers to the wheels if possible. also at the mechanic the other day was a Mk1 or 2 ford escort(soz but v nice despite the ugly lime green!) so i measured the stud pattern and it was also 4 x 108. i believe early capri's the same.

Could also be worth noting whether the wheel stud on the possible wheels are a tapered stud or a flat base.......... The Pug style is a flat base. Stud diameter is also critical.
That said, it is possible even if a wheel is a tapered seat and a different diameter they can be filled and redrilled on a mill with an indexing head.

TIG welded spacers can be done, but should be set up in a lathe to ensure precision and a perfect weld penetration.

There are also two different length wheel studs used by Pugs I have seen

    Usual legal disclaimers apply.

    cheers

Only ever heard of Mk1 Eskie wheels being the same as the 205 GTi, if you have a series 1 205, just get a set of 15" series 2 wheels, that way you can upgrade the calipers to a set of series 2 without any additional mods.
