Default 407 Sound system - how do you remove it?

Hi there, I'm new to this and wanted to find out how it all works. I guess I just ask a question??

I was after some assistance with removing the sound system out of my 407 SV. The reason for this is to install a custom bracket to hold my GPS unit.

Am I correct in saying that there are two hex shaped screws holding the radio in? (accessed via the two holes on either side of the unit)

Most radios with holes on either side can be removed with a specialist removal tool, which releases a couple of pins which lock the unit it. I've tried this but this was unsuccessful as it is of a different design.

I thought between now and when I get my hands on a small enough hexagonal screwdriver I'd ask on here to see if anyone else has come across this problem.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Default 407 sound system removal

    Maro,
Not many people may have removed their 407 sound system personally on this 4um. The 407 being a relatively new model most owners probably have taken their car to a Pug dealer or an auto sound system retailer.
If you can get a hold of a 407 work shop manual it should show you how to remove parts of the interior of the car. Try Amazon for work shop manuals if you can not get one in Oz.

    Good luck.
