Once again, I am sorry that you are unhappy with the car.

But perhaps you shouldn't compare a stock 206 with a heavily modified 205.

Also, the engine really does open up after around 10000km. Not only have I heard the engines note change, but it drives alot smoother.

    Enjoy the 225!

Also, The 911 Porsche does NOT come with a spare.. Some cars do, others don't. I am sure that the dealer told you this, but you bought the car still..

But might I suggest reading Bang for your Bucks 2005 in Motor magazine.. The 225 in it's current guise is not that able at corners. Although the upcoming CUP version looks quite nice. I wouldn't buy one personally, but I would take one for free!

So you bought it anyway after knowing, when compared to your highly modified 205, that it wasn't going to live up to your expectations. That is one hell of a strange decision.

As you've only done 7000ks then you are still experiencing a tight engine. Maybe by the time it has done 20,000km it will be freer.

You've had a lot of Pugs but I think you were, and still are, being unrealistic when it comes to the 180.

Have a read of the CAR 0603 180 artcile here (Not you need to be a member of the 206GTi Yahoo group to gain access):
    http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/peugeot-206gti/files/206%20Reviews/

The 180 is the modern day success to the 205GTi. Times have changed, thus cars have changed.

Oh by the way a 225 isn't any faster than a 180, but then you already knew that from the extensive research you've done. Maybe you should by a different sort of Lion eg a V8 Commodore.
    Cheers Simon

Saw a TG vid the other day that compared the Astra Coupe (240bhp) to the Golf V and the 225 CUP. Can't recall where the link was. Astra couldn't make use of all the power. Renault was not that well built. Golf was the most refined.

I dont think anyone is angry with you, it just looks like your expectations are unrealistic and should of thought long and hard before you bought the 180. The 180 is what it is and for 35k your getting a hell of package. It accelarates and handles well. Your reasoning for disliking the car based on this and your other post doesnt seem to be based on something wrong with the car, but rather your own individual distaste.

Anyway, all the best with the megane, i dont think its that much quicker, but it will feel more torquey. Perhaps you need to consider a non frenchie if you want pure performance GTR, GTi-R, evo, supra etc.

nos205gti, wow, that's a lot of Pug experience there. What is your issue with the tyres? Are you referring to the ride and compliancy, or just sheer grip? The 180 does have a phenomenal amount of corner speed, which I believe you said, so I'm a bit confused...

Re: spare tyre, you could always buy a spare tyre and carry it for the long trips. I believe that's what some 180 owners have done.

This post proves you don't understand the point of the 180. It is not a drag car.

Lets take the 225 and the 180 around a twisty track... As proven by BFYB the 180 is faster...

If you want a drag car, don't waste your money on modifying the 180... But a Soarer/Skyline/Japanese whatever.

    Cheers
