Love this quote: "As a smartly appointed and good-looking alternative to such rivals, the 307 Sport might be just the tonic to those one-time 205/306 GTI-ers who’ve gone soft in their old age."

Somehow, I just have this feeling that it won't have a soft cushy ride

I bet the spring and shock rates are the same as the 143 307, and maybe even the previous T5 138 307.

So we still don't get a well sorted 307 suspension set up, even on the Feline. What a shame...

Not to sure Lincoln. Maybe Justin can shed some more light on it.

Peugeot seem to be doing a great job of offering luke warm cars at the moment. The 307 Feline, 407 Coupe, hell even the 206 GTI180 isn't meant to be as raw or involving as the Clio Sport, or especially the Clio Cup.

I did read they are promising the 207 GTI will be a proper hot hatch

"All of its cars from the 1.1 litre 205 through the ugly duckling 309 to the 2.2 litre 505 GTi had a rightness and a righteousness about them that turned every humdrum drive into a journey. Someone, I once wrote, in the bowels of Peugeot understands handling and how a chassis should feel." - Jeremy Clarkson

Agree the 180 is no Clio Cup but as a competitor to the 182 it is more than up to the task.

There hasn't been anything official mentioned about suspension changes.

Having driven a T5 307 with the T6's mechanicals/technology, I suspect they didn't really change much. What I find interesting is my 307 has nicer steering feel - more weight and feel.

It could be that the system has 'run in' now

There's a fine line between run in and worn out...

Justin, whilst on 307 steering, I drove my mates 307 (03 auto) and it seems to transmit an annoying amount of 'buzz' through the steering wheel on coarse bitumen...

I got used to it pretty quickly but it was slightly suprising...

Is this a 307 thing or just a quirk with his car?

I haven't really felt any real buzz on coarse surfaces to be honest.

    Default Specs and pricing

Specs and pricing can be found here:

    http://www.peugeot.com.au./PEUGEOT/A...icing_spec.pdf

Starts at $24,990 for the 1.6 XS, up to $37,990 for the Sport. I like the look of the Sport, will definitely take one for a test drive - might have to upgrade my 2003 XSE.

    Could be the tyres.

My 307 certainly has an impressive amount of kickback on rough surfaces. My mates 607 is even worse...
