    Default mi 16 clutch

greetings, up for new clutch on our S1 Mi16, quotes around $1000 to $1500.
Does anybody have an opinion on getting the job done by non specific Peugot garages? i.e I know some reputable and respected garages who say they can do it for a better price (much). They are skilled and attentive trades people but as i said not pug people any risks

    Howdy,

I live in Brisbane and i just got my clutch done at French Car Care, which you can probably guess specalises in French cars. I paid $1200 and no porblems what so ever. After some of the dodgy stuff I have seen other well known generic companies do, its worth the extra $200.

    Cheers

If it was me I would stick with a pug mechanic but its always up to you and of course up to the wallet. Its a shame but the Mi16 guru mechanic in melbourne has just retired. There are plenty of places in melbs that will be able to do a good job though. Do a search, there are heaps of threads on good mechincs in melbourne

A clutch kit is approx. $300, another $45 for a flywheel skim and 6 hrs. of labour. So how much is that?

I seem to recall i got mine done a couple of years ago for about $800, Peugeot dealer in Bundy. Over $1000 seems a bit excessive to me.
