    Icon1 P Plates, 206 GTi 180 insurance

    Hi

Just working out an estimate weekly cost that the 180 is going to cost me. I got a couple of quotes and I thought you may be interested...

Registered and insured under my mums name, with me listed as a regular driver,

Just car insurance offered a premium of only $3716.... Remember guys, just car insurance is cheap compared with other insurers for young drivers

NRMA offered me a reasonable price of $1707, not bad hey? Well looks like NRMA is the insurance company to go to...

How do these prices differ to yours?

    COP THAT BITCH!!!

na, rusty i reckon you should be expecting to pay around 3k comprehensive. im paying $1,700 for my pos 8valve 306 & im 20 years old.

if you can get anything close to 2.5k take it, but read the conditions, cause your the exact type of customer that insurance companies want to bend over,

rustymunga, use the same insurer as your parents using for the house, and also bargain them down by getting official quotes from cheaper companies etc, but make sure you cover in depth the fine print.

I wouldn't go nrma unless you get choice of repairer and they will cover the repair warranty....

the care and repair service is just another way for them to save money. And you will never know where your car went to for its repair. dodgy as...

this time next year i'll be 25. Insurance is curretly 900 a year for the s16. should drop to 600 odd

You guys have got to try Shanons... about $440 a year full comp on a personally imported CX 2500 GTi Turbo ... The Xantia is less.

It helps when the youngest driver is 25 though (Ang).

Don't be surprised if they will not touch a 'P' plater driving a 180.... Think about it, would any of you guys insure a 'P' plater driving a 180 ??? Of course not, unless it was a 180B.... The risk is simply wwwwwwaaaaaayyyyyyy to high. You should be getting a 1.4litre 206 and keeping insurance costs down.

wow, from what I have seen so far, insurance is very low for 20 and above year olds on the 206 GTi 180.

Keep in mind however that my car will be insured under my mums name, with me listed as a regular driver

I rang NRMA and they quoted me 1770 or something (just look at my first post)

My question is though, does this include third party compulsory? If not, what would your estimate be in how much it would cost me to insure my 180, keepoing in mind that it will be 1770... (quote for comprehensive through NRMA)

    Yo mate,

I'm on my Greens and bought my 180 a month a go, I have compo insurance in my name with AAMI, car is in my name too for.... $1644 a year. I'm 18 turning 19 on the 3rd of october. How?? I did an AAMI qoute on the net and it came to 2072 or something, did it 3 times over a few days.. all came back with the same, then the forth time it came back as $1644, went to the closest AAMI shop and got it then and there. Maybe if i photo copied my policy and sent to you, you could show them and get the same thing. Not bad ay. Where you live mate, maybe we could do a drive together when you get yours.

also, if you buy brand new your third party is included in the on road costs and you could easily talk the dearlers down to about 34k for the car new with on roads, but do it at the end of the month when they need the sales and you may get it for less. With AAMI you can also have one mod free, (no others) I got a nice sports exhaust on mine, pretty loud and tops the car off. I work at a credit union and i'm an agent for allianz insurance, greenslips for us are about 500 because of our age.

I think what your asking about is 3rd CTP

Nrma will give you a price online...just use the online estimator

    http://www.nrma.com.au/pub/nrma/estimate/index.shtml

    You'd probably be $400 - 500 based on age...

    Maybe even more

Make sure the car is registered in the same name that the insurance is in. I have a mate who worked in claims for an insurance company. He told me about a young girl who had an accident, the insurance was in her father's name but the car was in hers. The claim was denied.
