    Default When is it time to replace timing belt? - pug 306

    hey guys,

    just got a 98 pug 306 - 1.8/8V auto with 85K on the clock
    just wondering if its due for a timing belt replacement - NRMA review says every 80k but im sure you guys will be certain.

    every 80k or 4 years

    if it breaks you will bend valves, not sure on the 8V but someone will know for sure but i know the 16V for sure will bend at least 8 of the 16

    good insurance, replace the belt
    3 x '78 604 SL

    If it hasn't been done recently, I would do it fast. A broken T-belt in any car is $$$$$

    Can someone please advise what the cost of this should be? I have heard $700? But a "normal" car person said it should be $500 max. Im guessing there is a diff due to it being a pug?
