    Default 206CC problems

Has any other owner of a recent model 206CC had problems with leaking water pumps, non-opening roof, and automatic lights which go on in broad sunlight? My car has done 20,000kms so I'm having a bit of trouble accepting these problems so early on in the car's life.
    Any suggestions?

finally good to hear from another Sydney CC owner, however not to good to hear about the problems you are experiencing.

i have not experienced any of the problems mentioned above, however i am aware of a fellow CC owner who has experienced non-opening roof problems.

have a look at this site for more info which may be of help ....... www.peugeot206cc.co.uk

I imagine you are still within the warranty period. Take it back to your dealer and demand satisfaction!!!

Take it to the dealer and say, fix it?

Actually, its just out of warranty (2 years, ran out March this year) . I bought it 2nd hand last November with 9200km on the clock. I do indeed plan to demand satisfaction from Peugoet if the service centre hasn't on my behalf (i'm waiting for their call). I was merely interested in knowing whether anyone else had experienced these problems as they seem ridiculous given the age of the car and the amount of driving its had.

    Thanks for your replies

because the car is just outa warranty you should get ' good will' with most or some of the work carried out by the dealership. the later you leave repairs when outa warranty the harder it is too get it.
sometimes with the roofs they dont want to work if havent been used for a while. if so itl just need a manual reset,if not then HOPE they give you good will.
if its a 2 litre then pumps do weep. 1 in 10ish. not major problem but get it done so it dont bite youre pocket later.
auto boxs are a bit sookish too. usually a software download of the engine and transmission ECUs help but an extreem itl be a box replacement.
    good luck

Peugeot switched from Heuliez (which made 206 CC) to German roof specialist (same that makes Mercedes roofs) for 307 CC because better quality.

I guess coming 207 CC will also have Made In Germany roof.

Water Pumps are getting to be quite a common failure on EW10J4 engines. I hope you will get a 'good will' claim, however, PAA are quite strict with service history! CC roofs also get problems with microswitches, adjustment and manual reset should see you in the sun again. Depending on the age (from DAM # and/or BSI software spec) of the vehicle, auto lights and/or wipers sensitivity may be adjustable through Diag equipment. There are cases where the sensor has been faulty, even an imperfection like ripples/dips in the windscreen over the sensor through manufacture can play havoc with the 'lazy man's features'. I reckon only a dealer will be able to help you out!

well, although i am not driving a 206cc, i've got a gti, bought it brand new, i experienced the problem more than anyone else.
since i bought my car, on avearge every 4 months, i have to visit the dealer once to get my car fix.
first, i got the"stop" warning light on. they took about 3 months to check. after that, there is a problem with my engine, they need to replace the valve, pistol and reconditon the head. i had a oil leaking, airbag, chair jamed, unworking brake light, timing belt noise. i just can't belive that could be happened on a new car. even the battery go dead few days ago, my car is only 2 and a half with 36000km.

    Default 206CC problems

Hi, well I managed to get basically a 50% part payment from Peugeot for the parts. I needed a new microswitch for the roof, new sensor for the lights (which work properly intermittently), new water pump and timing belt as the coolant contaminated the belt. I would be happy not to have the light/rain sensor fixed for my own purposes but felt it might be appropriate if I want to on sell. That's another trip to the service centre though, as they used my part on someone else's car! I have an aftermarket warranty which will cover the water pump.
I see from other posts that these problems are not uncommon, but they still seem mad to me. Devil 206 seems to be having a particularly bad time!
