Default Left Foot Rest for 205 GTI

Has anyone put in a left foot rest into a 205? I'm getting a bit sick of my left leg flappy around and trying to brace my foot on anything that will accommodate it!
If so - home made or production?
    Thanx. David.

    David,

Not in a 205 but I've fitted one to my 405.

Using my 306 as a rough guide, I made a tapered wooden block shaped & screwed to the floor with the contact surface covered in rubber.

I carefully cut the carpet so it folds up either side of the rest.

    Simple & effective.

i was looking at putting one in my 205 gti but i came to the conclusion that it could be done but you will need skinny shoes to fit in between the cluth pedal and console wall.
but go ahead and try you may work it our better than moi-BAZZ

Yeah fair point - making me think now. I think I have my foot there anyway so theres a chance I guess. Will have to get head down and bum up and take a look I guess. Would be really handing during those 'enthusiastic' driving times in the hills of the high country!

I've put one (foot rest) in a Mk1 Swift GTi, which is just as cramped as a 205 for pedal Vs foot room.
We used a platic foot rest from a nissan that we found at our local wrecker, we just simpy bolted it to the nearest bit of non stresed metal (NOTE>NOT THE FIREWALL) and she was a beauty. - Chris

i have seen a alloy foot rest for the 205 on the autofive[i think] site in the uk.
    looked pretty good.
i usually wear walking boots so foot room in my pedal position is cramped.i have to watch i dont hit the brake pedal with my left foot while engaging the clutch.
altho, i just got some adidas runners that have a thin foot profile just for driving days.
the nissan one will work a treat,my brother has a mid 80's pulsar and ive often joked about removing the footrrest while he's not looking.
you know i think the average french person must be smaller than over hear.
they register the rear seat as 3 people, hence the middle belt.ive had 3 in the back and boy were they squashed.
also the pedals are made for tiny little feet with no room between.
my 323 mazda which was a small hatch had much larger pedals.
and the accelerator angle is not good for long distance driving.my foot and leg always goes to sleep after an hour or two sitting behind the wheel.
even in casnells rally 205 with lowered seating position on the way to canberra and back.
good thing we were stopping and swapping driving every two hours or so.

I think our next 205 meet should be near Tawonga Gap or Mt Buffalo!
