205 GTI Spark Plugs

Hi There,

Before I go and buy new spark Plugs for my 1988 205 gti 1.9 XU9JA D6B engine I have a question to ask. Factory manual recommends Eyquem FC62LS
for the 1.9 engine.
Now should i go for NGK (BCP7ES I think) or Beru Plugs. Haven't a clue where to find the Beru plugs in NZ though but have heard good reports about them.

Beru make a bloody good plug. We used to use them years ago in motorbikes and they were of extremely high quality and ultra reliable.
I've heard a few reports from overseas from owners of Cits who have used them and it would seem they are still as good as they ever were.
Made in Belguim from memory.

i get them from my local peugeot dealer [reagans in hawthorn]
not found them elsewhere.
im sure they would post some over to n.z.
they aint cheap but ive run the same ones for three years now without a hiccup.
ive heard scare stories that they are not good in an engine thats done over 100,000 k;s but thats bullshit.usually told by the guy selling the standard ngk's.
mine has 185,000 and runs fine.
they deffintly give better spark than the standard plug.
there is no need to gap them so less worry about that .

ngk is BCPR5ES not 7ES... different resistor values
