    Default 505 running problem

Had my 505 GR serviced by Bridgestone back in February (big mistake).
Tried them as they were very local.
Since then idling has been rough but now when I select drive or reverse the engine shudders briefly and cuts out. No amount of warming up seems to help.
Would this perhaps be a timing issue or say fouled plugs?

does it idle rough when at running temp ?

might be worth checking the carb tuning

Very common problem, I solved it only by changing carbies... got rid of the Weber and fitted the original Solex.

But there's more to it than that. I think it's tied up with the vacuum lines, power booster line etc. Very annoying problem.

Although it could be wear in the throttle spindle...

    Pug 504 505,
Can I suggest that the idle mixture is too rich ? With the engine warmed up wind the carb mixture screw IN. If it was incorrect the idle should increase slightly. Keep track of the number of turns of the screw, if this tip doesn't work restore the adjustment.
Is the idle speed correct? No less than 900 rpm if automatic. Check this first.
