    Default Quick 405 questions

Where do the jack and wheel brace live in the 405s? Mine has been floating around the boot since i got it a year ago...

Also, is there supposed to be a piece of plastic running on the inside of the boot between the tail lights? Mine has exposed metal there which looks a little ordinary.

    It all makes sense now...

Does anyone happen to have one of these plastic panels they would be willing to sell?

Ok I have one that I am happy to get rid of, as there are three of you first come first served, although Gazumping is alive and well in Canberra It is out of a series 2 however.

    Guys,

Having owned both an S1 and S2 cars I can inform you that this plastic cover does not exist on an S1 car. the jack and brace go in behind that metal strap thing and is held in with a stretch rope.

The S2 boot layout is no where near the same as the S1 as they open at bumper level and S1's dont.

Hope this helps, if there are still issues I can take a pic in my boot.

    Cheers

Time for me to rephrase the question i think...

How do the owners of s1 405s secure their jacks?

Stuff it behind the metal strip that runs from the boot latch to the floor of the boot, and then chuck the elastic strap around it. If you don't have one, just buy an octopus strap from repco or hardware store, or steal the strap off your girlfriend's strap-on.

simple. place the jack behind the metal strap thing... then proceed to "expand" the jack until it is not going to move anywhere in a hurry.
