    rprince3op2,
Have you tried the usual suspects?

Caravelle in Melbourne? 03 98909061...they have a very comprehensive French Car spares list, and one of the best mail-order services around.
EAI if Caravelle don't have it, which would be rare.

    if they fail, try Ingrams.

    Good luck

If the diodes are press fit into and aluminium "knuckle duster " bracket, since diodes are made to standard range of dimension, sometimes generic bosch or or lucas, motorola diodes fit.

This can be easier than trying find spares for an odd ball alternator

I assume you are talking stator diodes not field diodes. Standard 1N 4004 work OK as replacement field diodes.

Press the old ones out (a drill of the right diameter put backwards into the chuck of a good drill press works well)

Make sure you get the diodes the corect diodes as replacements: some are anode case and some cathode to case, usually they are all the same in the same bracket.

    Good luck

Problem solved - got a reconditioned Valeo from the wrecker ($60).
WOW - does a charged up battery make a difference when starting!
